Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.Description of Job Duties:Performs general repairs and maintenance of automotive/truck vehicles and equipment; and performs other duties as assigned. Maintains automotive vehicles and equipment by repairing, adjusting or replacing batteries, performing tune-ups, replacing and adjusting headlights, checking fluids and lubricants, changing filters and belts, and changing and rotating tires. Learns to perform more complex duties by assisting higher level technicians in functions such as disassembling, repairing and assembling engines, transmissions, etc. Operates tools and machines in repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Inspects and analyzes automobile vehicles and equipment for repairs and service. Completes servicing reports for repairs and maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.Special Requirements ::Must possess a valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification.
