Advanced finance position performing assignments related to accounting, state reporting and analysis requiring advanced analytical and technical skills. May serve as Subject Matter Expert for the unit participating in and sometimes leading special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed. Primary responsibilities listed below but are not limited to:

  • Production of State of KY Regulatory Reporting

  • Assist with the Medicaid and CHIP Annual Plan and Quarterly Forecasts, Membership, Underwriting Margin, Administrative Expense

  • Assist in Monthly Budget vs. Actual analysis

  • Manage processes that control/monitor key drivers to achieve business goals

  • Provide data and analysis to support the Plans mission

  • Assist with analysis of key components of financial results and address questions as needed

  • Support financial information requests from internal and external stakeholders

  • Serve as team lead providing guidance and training to less experienced staff members

  • Analyze new reporting methods and revise unit processes as needed to provide more meaningful and timely analysis/reporting for senior management and external stakeholders

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the unit participating in and sometimes leading special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed

  • Streamline processes for efficiency and identify cost savings opportunities within defined scope

  • Communicate results to local and regional management and regulators

  • Adaptability within a dynamic environment

  • 5+ years finance or accounting related experience; healthcare finance a plus.

  • Advanced Excel Skills; ability to manipulate and present data. Advanced Excel skills desired.

  • Strong SQL query writing skills desired.

  • Process Improvement, automation, VBA macro experience, and/or Tableau are all a plus.

  • Strong communication skills; ability to interact and communicate with various levels of management across the company and externally.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Medicaid experience strongly desired.

  • CPA is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired.
