Job Function Gas Distribution Operations
Position Purpose This position is responsible for field execution of the company’s Transmission Integrity Management Program to ensure the company complies with federal and state pipeline safety regulations.
Education & Experience A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of experience in the natural gas industry focused on transmission integrity management field assessments. A Pipeline Integrity Management certification from the Gas Technology Institute or a Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Management certification from the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. Advanced knowledge of computer operation and use required. Must be familiar with Word, Excel, and SmallWorld. Ability to analyze and solve complex field problems.
Preferred Qualifications .
Job Description Leads field planning, oversight, and execution of integrity assessments including Inline Inspection, Direct Assessment, and pressure testing. Plans, coordinates and controls the excavation activities for integrity assessments. Leads field data collection during excavation of anomalies found during assessments and reports results of field assessments to required parties in support of the pipeline integrity effort. Field oversight of pressure testing failure investigations. Field oversight of repairs of line pipe and non-pipe facilities. Assists in determination of safe operating pressure for immediate repair conditions. Collects data for use in all Integrity Management Data areas including: HCA locations and type, as-built information, inspections, repair, and preventative maintenance, third-party activities, surveillance, corrosion management and cathodic protection systems. Coordinates field personnel for pipeline integrity repair projects, system enhancements, and maintenance activities. Prepares and presents reports giving conclusions of job related activities. Assists others with large projects, as needed. Assists with the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Plans and controls all activities to provide an accident-free work place in accordance with company’s No Compromise safety policy. Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations. Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness. Occasionally directs the activities of contractors, technicians, and others as they perform various field activities and inspections. All other duties and projects as assigned.
Work Conditions Primarily field and construction site work. The field work requires frequent walking and climbing. Must be able to contribute in a structured business environment.
Physical Effort Primarily field work with rigorous walking of pipeline right-or-ways. Frequent climbing in and out of ditches.
