Position Overview:

Quad/Graphics is currently looking for Sheet Fed Press Operator to work in the Versailles, Kentucky facility. The primary function of this position is to produce work of high quality on a sheet-fed offset printing press, perform maintenance as needed, and to train appropriate personnel.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review work schedules promptly at the start of shift, check all equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations.

  • Running jobs at the highest production rate possible while maintaining quality through the constant inspection of printed materials for any defects (Hickeys, inking, water balance, bleeds, pagination, registration, wrinkles, scuffing, scratching, ghosting etc.).

  • Job make ready of proper ink sequence, fountain settings (preliminary and start-up), feeder and delivery set up

  • Maintaining the press in a safe operating condition.

To be considered the qualified applicant must have 2-3 years experience as a sheet fed first pressman and a strong understanding of color matching. Experience on Presstek Digital Imaging Press is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to make ready the press and have a strong mechanical aptitude. Position will be required to lift 50 pounds consistently and work a 12-hour rotating shift and work overtime as required. This position must communicate effectively at all levels and will work very closely with management and clients.
